Tooth Care with Rose Water and Clove Oil

Rose water is the hydrosol portion of the distillate of rose petals and it is the byproduct of the production of rose oil for use in perfume. Due to it’s natural fragrance and benefits it is often used in flavor food and medical preparations throughout Europe and Asia. Rose water is very popular in south Asian countries due to its refreshing fragrance. A few drops of Rose water mixed to a glass of water not only make a very refreshing mouthwash but also lends a fragrance to your mouth.

There is also possible to naturally repair and even regrow your teeth without going to the dentist. Read here: Bad teeth repair & regrowth

Clove oil is another way to keep your teeth healthy and white. It is natural analgesic and antiseptic and used in dentistry for its main ingredient eugenol. Clove is rich in minerals such as calcium, hydrochloric acid, iron, phosphorous, sodium, potassium, vitamin A and vitamin C. Presence of these makes clove oil antimicrobial, antifungal, antiseptic, antiviral, aphrodisiac and stimulating properties. In fact clove is often used very liberally as spice in Indian food primarily in southern India. This is also used in tea to give a particular flavor and health benefits. This can be purchased from pharmacy as over the counter medicine and used as home remedy for dental pain relief. In fact this is often used as medicine if the gums are bleeding or painful. One popular way of using it is to put a few of cloves while you make your tea which not only gives flavor but all the ingredients required. And if you are not so much of a tea fan then you can simply take one or two piece of clove in your mouth and chew, to see it’s magical effect try it when your gums are sore, swollen or painful. Simply chewing a few cloves will help you eliminate the pain immediately.

Besides these suggested options there are several other natural ways to take care of your teeth. Apple juice with its natural acid makes a very successful mouth wash. Vegetables like beet, turnip, carrot and radish are all rich in chlorophyll and are eating them raw or salad could be very healthy for teeth besides making nutritious food. Nevertheless to say the best way to keep your teeth shining would to not avoid those habits and foods which are injurious to their health. And smoking in my opinion is at the top of our list. We should avoid extremely hot or extremely cold foods and if we can not avoid then we should at least try to avoid taking extremely cold food followed by extremely warm food and vice versa.

Entering and Winning Writing Contests

Visit any writing message board and you’ll read discussion threads
on contests and competitions
for writers. The messages run the gamut of those who have been
scammed to those who rave
about contests. So where does the truth lie? For as many contests
for writers there are out there,
there are as many truths.

Before you run away from the opportunities offered by many
legitimate writing contests, read the
following eleven tips on choosing, winning and benefitting from
writing contests.

1. Visit the websites listed below under resources. Many offer
comments on writing contests
which can help you decide which ones are for you, and which ones are
to avoid. Do an internet
search on the publication, business or person running the contest.
While not answering all your
questions, this type of search can help you cross off questionable
contests.

2. If a contest is free to enter, you have nothing to lose, but
still read the fine print. There are
contests that claim rights to any winning stories, or even all
submissions. For contests with an
entry fee, decide if the prize money justifies the fee. For example,
would you pay $15 entry fee
for a poetry contest where the winner received $35 as the prize?
Would you pay a fee if the prize
was publication, or a book?

3. Still unsure about a publication or business that is running an
writing contest? E-mail the
publisher or owner and ask for references. Visit the contest’s
website and track down former
winners. Again, this is not a guarantee of anything, but if a former
winner says he lost all rights
to his story and was never paid, or on the other hand, if the winner
raves about the cash prizes
and personal note from the literary agent/contest judge, you have a
better idea of how you are
likely to be treated in each case.

4. Read the rules carefully to make sure that a prize will be
awarded no matter how many entries
are received. If there is a minimum amount of entries (say the
editor just wants to bring in entry
fees equal to the cash awarded), make sure that the contest’s rules
state the fees will be refunded
if the competition cannot be completed.

5. Want to increase your odds of winning? Find a relatively new
publication or contest. Each
year a contest is held builds on the previous year’s publicity. The
second annual contest of a
fiction magazine will likely draw less entries than one that’s been
publicized for ten years.

6. Another way to hedge your bets is to follow the contest’s
rules. Know the word limit, way to
submit, how to pay the entry fee and when winners will be announced.
Do not think your story
will be so special that the judges will overlook your sloppy
formatting, lack of fee or 4000 extra
words.

7. Read the list of judges. This could be as important as (and
more exciting than) reading the
contest rules. Will a magazine editor be judging your work? Maybe
you’ll catch the eye of a book
editor, literary agent, novelist or publisher. If the judge list is
great, and you don’t win a prize,
you can still hope to hear from one of the judges asking you to
submit to his magazine, or from a
publisher asking if you have a novel in the works. For example, the
kinds of judges you might
wish to have reading your work can be found at Futures Mysterious
Anthology Magazine which
lists its judges online: http://www.fmam.biz/contests.html#judges .

8. Organize your work to be ready to enter contests. New contests
pop up daily online. If you
have your stories, essays, poems and book proposals organized, you
can quickly pull one from
your files of articles. Some contests accept previously published
pieces, so know where your
reprints are too.

9. Keep close tabs on what contests are coming up. Writer’s Digest
Writers Markets has a
section listing writing contests. The Writer magazine has a markets
section in each issue that
includes contests. Futures Mysterious Anthology Magazine, which
offers large cash prizes, and
ByLine Magazine, which pays extra (beyond the nice cash prizes) to
publish winning stories, list
their upcoming contests in each issue. Write down the URL’s listed
below so you can plan a
weekly foray online to find new competitions that meet your writing
and personality.

10. Write fiction and want to add a win to your publishing credits?
Know the periodicals and
reviews that have writing contests. Read what they publish so you’ll
know what to submit to the
contests. Glimmer Train has an annual new writers contest for those
who’ve not yet been
published in the short story genre. They are so organized for this
and their other contests that they
accept entries and the fee online, and send e-mail reminders to
subscribers and writers when new
contest deadlines are looming.

11. Take advantage of business tax deductions. Entry fees can be
listed on your Schedule C
(assuming you are a sole proprietorship) as a business expense, so
keep track of entry fees you’ve
paid. Any cash prizes, though, are not considered business income,
but must be listed under
“Other Income” on your 1040.

MSNBC

Launched on July 15, 1996, MSNBC is a 24-hour cable news channel that caters to viewers all over the United States and Canada. The letters MSNBC is a combination of Microsoft and NBC.

In keeping up with its aim of delivering substantial information to the people, MSNBC, together with NBC, announced that it will be covering the Democratic National Convention which ran from August 25 to 28, 2008 at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. Unlike other networks and television news organizations that broadcasted from rented indoor venues, MSNBC opened its broadcast to the public. This will ensure public participation throughout the 3-day affair.

Using outdoor sets propped up behind Denver’s Union Station and St. Paul’s Rice Park, MSNBC’s team of veteran broadcast journalists — Joe Scarborough, Andrea Mitchell, David Gregory and Norah O’Donnell — provided significant information, analysis, and celebrity/political interviews beginning 4 a.m. The primetime broadcasts, which lasted until midnight, were handled by Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews of Hardball with Chris Matthews.

Live reports from the convention floors were provided by David Gregory.

The Time Has Never Been Better to Join the Euro

One of the more influential figures in business Peter Sutherland believes that the time is right to put joining the Euro back on the agenda. When the case was last investigated and, with the publication of the Treasury’s Report on the Five Tests, effectively terminated, not joining the Euro was the more obvious choice. It’s an astute observation that the case is far from as clear cut perhaps decisively so. A growing array of important factors have changed. As the time has returned where it is once again popular to quote Keynes, it is worth bearing in mind the reproof he directed at someone who criticised the arguable inconstancy of the views he expressed: “When the facts change I change my mind. What do you do?” First and most important when the case for the Euro was last went over, British citizens could be excused for following the classic Americans saying “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.

This attitude made perfect sense and was based on a long period of of GDP per capita increasing and moderate inflation. It was reflected in a long run of predominantly negative answers to the question, as asked by polling organizations, “if there were a referendum on joining the Euro would you answer Yes or No to the question ‘Should Britain join the Euro?’ Few would agree this American adage is appropriate today. Attitudes towards joining the Euro seem likely to change as a result.

An integral part in the long run of prosperity was undoubtedly the high value of the exchange rate of the pound against the Euro (and other currencies). Inevitably, things have changed. Where the exchange rate was debatably too high before, now it is debatably too low. It was tricky to recommend locking into the Euro at the rates which were common in the late ’90s through to 2007 and it would be wise to await some appreciation before locking in now - but that some fall in the exchange rate can be welcomed is hardly beyond dispute. Still, while we are on the subject of the exchange rate, it is not just quibbles about whether the rate is correct or not at a particular time that should count. Instead of that, the lesson that might be learnt is that the recent behaviour of the exchange rate gives barely any ground for optimism about its role as a stabilizer when Britain’s exchange rate is floating. It’s true to say that there have been a number of studies which seem to show that the exchange rate may, for many countries, be just as much a source of shocks as a stabilizer of them.

A New Way To Self Publish

More and more good authors are turning to the Internet to self publish. There are several reasons for that. All of them are probably well known to every writer by now, so we’ll not go into them here. What we’ll talk about here is a new way to self publish.

Everyone has, by now, heard of ebooks. This is a wonderful way to publish on the net, but it requires special programs to empliment it. And there are web sites that will do all that for you for a fee. But what if you simply can’t afford it or you don’t want to pay anyone?

This idea I’ve come up with may be out there in left field, but out in left field is where you usually find some great ideas. Here is what I found.

Create a credit card account somewhere first. Pick any company you are comfortable with and doesn’t cost a great deal. After that is all set, put your novel on your web site, create its own page, and use the ariel font. Use size 10 for the main text. Your title and chapter headings can be larger.

Write an intro page for your novel and create a separate page for it. Here is where you’ll put any illustrations you may have. So people will have an example of your writing, copy and paste the first chapter of your novel and put it here, too. Also on this page will be the link to your credit card payment company.

The next step is to set up your credit card account to connect with the novel page after your customers have paid for it and then they can simply print out the novel or copy and paste it to their Word or Works program that is already on their computers.

This is a simple and yet effective way to self publish and it does not cost you anything, either. Out in left field, I know, but hey. Anything to survive, huh?

Self-examination vs Self-indulgence

Self-examination is brutally honest. Self-indulgence is brutally maudlin.

Writing requires the author to be harshly candid about motive, intent, and goal, which, of course, mean self-examination. On the other hand, a lack of sincerity becomes self-indulgence, which is self-pitying.

Writers must know why they are writing, their motive. Is it for money, acclaim, or self-satisfaction? Is it to inform, entertain, or convince the reader? Is it to fulfill a desire to titillate, deceive, or subvert the reader? The author must be sincere when he or she considers the desire.

Generally speaking, writers have more than one goal as they compose. In today’s world where non-fiction makes up the greatest percentage of writing, the motive is to inform or convince with the secondary motive being financial. Most authors want to be published to acquire financial assets or to become wealthy, but the first consideration is to have something to say that is relevant to the intended readership.
Fiction writers often write for a need to express themselves and to entertain while poets put forth their passion to amuse, to beguile, to foment, to excite, and to purge. All writers, therefore, must establish their motive and be conscientious.

Thus writers have three goals–to inform, to entertain, and to convince. In this world of information overload, the writer has an important role because dissemination of information is, for the most part, achieved through the written word, even in television. Before the pictures, comes the text and writers generate this although they often work behind the scenes.

Entertainment is accomplished through the eyes, the ears, and other senses, but, again, before this happens, the writer is the primary source of the ideas that become articles, books, movies, or television programs.
Last but not least, is the motive to convince, and again the writer is responsible for this. Advertising, political campaigning, religion–all want to persuade the reader, audience, spectators, and listeners that it to their advantage to accept what is offered. Behind the scene, again, is the writer.

Thus, the writer must submit to self-examination with candor and intensity to be sure that motives are fulfilling, not just self-gratifying. If it is self-indulgence then it is effusively sentimental, lacking in substance and fidelitythe dedicated writer’s anathema.

The Betting Community’s Wish: Rakeback to Even the Playing Field

Many a player has asked me “Why would I need a poker rakeback? I only play at poker websites if I have an incentive.” What will you do if you resolve to be a career poker bettor? There are a multitude of bettors in the gaming community that regret neglecting rakeback however nowadays they have now opted in for all the major poker websites.

Don’t turn into one of them. Anyone that stakes up to $1/$2 and only gambles if you are using bonuses, you could be receiving in most cases around one hundred percent rakeback considering the bonus on your wager. One leading room lately removed card players who employed the website only to bet like this. Who knows if this exercise might inspire a new trend. Should this come about then a Full Tilt Poker rakeback is very critical.

Someday you may hit tiptop form and grow very wealthy, if it has not occurred by now. I was hurt in an on the job accident and stumbled upon online poker during my recovery and I have never regretted it. That happened the best part of two years ago and believe me I have not once required to work since then due to web based betting and naturally rakeback. Advance planning is a good idea. Believe it an investment in the future, if you do not believe rakeback is for you at present it certainly could become a great deal before long, there’s zero to lose. Should you be looking at checking out any different sites signing up for a rakeback deal is important. Rakeback Rakeback Professionals is pleased to be associated with such a lot of reputable partners.

It can be as uncomplicated as surfing to any Rakeback Professionals affiliated site or as accessible as sending an e-mail. Any affiliate can get everybody started on the spot. You will be able to begin playing right then. Should you sign up with an affiliate through Rakeback Professionals you can always rest assured each partner has been checked out and have agreed to authorize The online gambling assistance organization Rakeback Professionals to arbitrate any concerns which might surface. Even So since we invariably investigate every one of our affiliates, concerns have been few and we always work at once to correct any problem for the peace of mind of all gamers.

Revealed! Ancient Chinese Secrets To Overcoming Writers Block!

You know, some jobs just stink, and no matter how hard you
try, there’s just very little to no redeeming value in them.

For example — the guy who splits the peas that go into
split-pea soup.

That can’t be too much fun, now can it?

Or how about the guy who collects the tolls on the highways,
bridges and tunnels.

That job sucks!

Believe me, I used to do that while I was going to college.

And you know what’s different between the first car you give
45 cents change to, at 11 pm… and the last car you give 45
cents change to, the following morning at 7 am?

Absolutely… NOTHING!

Anyway, there’s a man named Donald Lau, who’s vice-president
of Wonton Food, Inc., in Long Island City, New York.
(that’s just outisde of Manhattan)

Donald is the guy who’s responsible for writing up all the
fortunes that get wrapped up inside the fortune cookies at
your local Chinese restaurant.

In fact, Donald’s company cranks out 4 million fortune
cookies a DAY, so Donald just might be the most prolific
writer in history.

Whatever.

Donald never expected to be a fortune-cookie writer, of
course, things just happened that way, as they sort of
do for most people.

Needless to say, now-and-again, Donald suffers from “writers
block” (No doubt, the thrill is probably 100% gone for
Donald.), and so he’s constantly looking around his
environment to pick up little gems he can put on the
fortunes that go inside the cookies his company
manufactures.

Like when he rides the subway to work, for example: “Beware
of odors coming from strange places.”

My favorite fortune-cookie fortune of all time, is… “He
who eats jellybeans, farts in technicolor.”

I wonder if Donald wrote that one — maybe you’ve cracked
open a fortune-cookie or two and found that one too?

Anyhow, Donald recently came up with 2 gems I wanted to pass on to
you, about writing, because they are very very relevant to
writing your sales copy.

And here they are:

One, “Don’t have too complicated a mind.”

The simple truth is, the easier you can say it, the easier
your prospect can understand it.

And two, “Think in ten word sentences.”

You should never go on and on in your writing, just like you
should never go on and on when you’re talking to someone.

Ancient Chinese wisdom from Donald, sure makes good sense to
me, no?

Now go sell something,

Exercise Tips for People With ‘No Time’

Copyright 2006 Sheri Zampelli

As our lives become more complex, we need creative time-management twists to juggle all the things we want to do. This article will give you tips on how to fit exercise into your busy schedule, even if you have a sedentary lifestyle.

The first step is to drop the all-or-nothing, perfectionistic thinking that says “It has to be at a gym. It doesn’t count if you don’t breathe hard. It doesn’t count if you don’t do it for at least 30 minutes non-stop,” etc. Any physical activity is more beneficial than NO physical activity. So open your mind and let’s create new solutions.

We all get stuck from time to time sitting at our computers, waiting for one thing or another:

*Long print jobs

*Slow or large downloads

*Large files to open

*Inspiration on what to write or do next

*”Instant” messages

*iPod Updates

Here’s how you can put that time to use:

1. Get a medicine ball and/or exercise band at your local sporting goods store or on-line.

2. Put these items near your computer in an easy to reach location.

3. Begin compiling a stack of exercise ideas from magazines or books which you will also keep near your computer (consider starting a three-ring binder so you can easily find the book and flip through it at will).

4. When you encounter a wait period (or just need a little break), do a set of arm or leg exercises. Here’s a list of ideas to get you started:

Chest Press: Strap an exercise tube around the back of your office chair and do occasional chest presses. Hold one handle in each hand and position your hands so they are at chest level. Sit up straight. Push forward and extend your arms straight in front of you or, for variation, cross your hands in front of you. Repeat 10-15 times or until you become fatigued.

Overhead Tricep Lifts: Hold a 3-5 pound medicine ball in both hands. Lift it over your head with arms extended. Bend at the elbows and slowly lower the ball so that it ends up behind your neck. Continue lifting the ball from behind your neck to over your head. Use slow, steady, controlled movements. Repeat 8-10 times or until you become fatigued.

Bicep Curls: Depending on your strength level, you can use one or both arms for this exercise. Hold the medicine ball in your hands in front of you as if you are offering a gift to someone or holding a large cup or bowl in your hands. Your arms should be in an “L” shaped position at your sides. Bring the ball up to your chest slowly and then back down slowly. If you are strong enough, you can also do one arm at a time lifting the ball from the “L” shaped position up to your shoulder and back down again. Repeat 12-15 times or until you become fatigued. Perform equal amounts of repetitions for each arm.

Leg Lifts: Stretch your legs out in front of you and put your ankles and feet together. Place the medicine ball in the cradle created by your ankles so that the ball is resting on the top of your foot and your lower leg at the same time. Depending on your strength level, you can do this exercise a variety of ways:

Lower Leg Lifts: Lift your legs from the floor until they are almost completely extended. Maintain a small bend in the knees, do not lock your knees. For more of a challenge, hold your legs in the lifted position until you begin to feel your muscles shake or burn, then lower. Repeat 10-15 times.

Full Leg Lifts: Scoot up in your chair so that your buttocks are almost at the edge of your seat. Put your hands on the armrest to support your body. Extend your legs in front of you with your knees slightly bent. Lift your legs as high as you can off the ground. For extra challenge, hold your legs in place before lowering. Be sure to continue sitting up straight as you do this exercise and hold in your abdominal muscles for support.
